I give up. I looked up OOB online and got 10 definitions, the closest of which is Out of Box. Can you explain what this is and why it's so cool? Inquiring minds want to know...

I don't think the poster said it was "so cool". It is a technique that many are using to add interest to their images. It can be fun and generate interest at the same time. Gives the photo some three dimensionality.

The technique has been around for quite some time.

Out of bounds (OOB) photos are post processed photos where the contents are taken outside the boundaries, presented in creative 3-dimensional perspective. OOB photos can be achieve with some basic photo editing skills. Getting an interesting OOB photo depend largely on the photo angle and individual creativity.

The trouble I have with the op presentation is that he offering a picture of a printed picture. An odd way of presenting any work, post processed or not.

That was done about a year or so ago. I'm trying to use photoshop and gimp. Missing a step.

I applaud your effort and didn't mean to be negative. I'd just never heard of OOB and wanted to know what the idea was. I love to try new kinds of photography and post processing. Keep on trying and I agree with gut's comments above, don't worry about others. I do it for my own enjoyment first and if others like it, great, it's a bonus. Good luck!
