I am basically a Sony Alpha photographer, however I was just in the local camera shop and they had a Nikon D2X body with fewer than 4000 actuations and the body is in A++ condition. The camera sold for $500 and I purchased it with a Nikkor 50mm 1.8 lens (lens cost $130 extra), my question to Nikon owners did I get a good buy and what rating would you give this camera?

Well considering they were $5,000 a few years ago. For an older pro grade camera, I think you got an OK deal. What's important is that you like it and wanted it. Just get what you like, use it and be happy. Don't let other peoples opinions beat you down.

Hi Brucej67
Are you interested in a spare battery for the D2x?

The Nikon D2X was released in 2005. Read more here:

That's a great camera, my wife and I had some photo done at a professional photography studio recently and the pictures turned out to be fabulous, the photographer was using the camera D2X you just purchased and I asked her about it and she said that even though she had several different cameras there to utilize, she really favored the D2X....so I would think you made a great purchase!

You got a very good buy. Have been using one for high school rodeo, and it is tack sharp with the 70-200. Pretty heavy in comparison to the d200, but well worth the weigh in picture quality.

I was thinking cost of shipping and packing most likely less than $10.00. How ever I still want to check it out that it is good and will work for you.
