It is about that time of year again and I would like to get some shots of lightning. My equipment is listed down there on the left. What would be some good settings to start with.
Also any other tips for shooting storms. Thank you for the help.

You will either need another $150 of technology or a lot of real good luck. Type "lightning trigger" into Amazon or eBay.

I got one last year. It does work great. I finally had to try it with fire works. Never saw any close lighting after I got it.

Only if you want to capture during daylight. If you shoot after dark or with a strong ND in the day, no luck is needed. Just set up your camera to shoot 30 seconds exposures in the direction of the storm.
