I have never used photoshop. I am currantly trying photoshop 10. I have a photo I want to work on but need to know how people would fix this photo. Could any of you give me some steps to how you think you would fix this photo so I can go and try it. I have done some reading but I am having a hard time getting started. I think if I could try a few things maybe I could take it from there to learn more. just need a start.
post it again but this time check the "store original" box. Nice shot!
Yes, post the original. Nice shot!
I added the store original thanks. I have about 10 eagle photos I want to work on.
Here is a quick one. I would move my ISO setting from auto to 200 for these pictures with good light.. less noise to remove. I removed no noise. just color.

Use the paint bucket and select the color of your choice.

You change that in the camera before you shoot it.
ya I read it wrong and I figured out how to change the background.
I presume you meant Photoshop Elements 10.
First went to the Enhance menu, color correction, remove color cast...and clicked on a should-be-white neck feather.
Then used the unsharp mask to sharpen a little. Set the image size to 50% to do that and try different settings. I look at the eye when sharpening. Generally around 50% and 1-3 pixels. Leave threshold alone.
I then went back to Enhance color and added a bit of saturation.
I disagree with the suggestion to lower your ISO to 200. You need high ISO it to get the faster shutter speed. Even at the 1/2000 your shot is a little soft. 1/1000 should be enough with 220 mm so ISO 400 would have worked. It appears you cropped the image. Maybe a little less crop with the eagle at the thirds position would help on this one.
You might also set your white balance on Auto.
I highly recommend Kelby and Kloskowski's book on Photoshop Elements 10.
What do you think is wrong with it?
It looks fine; might need a bit of sharpening and noise reduction but that's it.

I think it needs little fixing. It is a great picture. The only thing I would personally prefer is that it be more centered. One can easily expand the background in a new image and then crop to desired size. The focus is a mite fuzzy, so you could try sharpening the image a little. It is nice action shot. The wings are in perfect position to give the impression of speed.

This was extemly helpful thanks a lot I will also look into the books. The lens i have 150 500 I just got so i have some work to do to learn how to use it. I had my iso up higher because it was extremly cloudy I almost shouldn't of took photos that day. I usually shoot at 400 iso and no higher then 800 but on this day I needed to get up the iso to get the faster shutter speed. Once again thanks a lot this helped a lot.
I love eagles and that is a beautiful shot!
