Hi Joe,
Yes i own it, no I have no plans to upgrade it. I love too much to mention here. The only downside I know of or read about are video access little red button is difficult to access, no audio mic plug in, limited number of lenses, and it is as of yet one Sony camera that can't be tethered using lightroom.
Capture One a LightRoom competitor uses tethering and I just bought the $300 software for their unbelievable 90% discount of $30 dollars, Sony raw only.
Its AF is second to none and image quality is great even when using their kit lens.
People also knock it for its relative small size, but that is why I love it. I ride a bicycle and I always said I 'm only buy and use p&s cameras so they would be with me on my rides. Pulling this camera from my cycling jersey rear pocket is as easy and the results match up nicely with the big DSLR Canon and Nikon heavy weights.
Remember the best camera for you is the one that is with you when you want to take a picture.
Hope this overly enthusiastic reply will get you into the Sony family. You won't be disappointed.

I have the Sony A 6000. My enthusiasm disappeared quickly at the lack of any meaningful documentation. Any help on how to use the camera would be appreciated.

I have no doubt that any survey of customers for these cameras would find few ever use them to there potential.

I got one to replace a bulky DSLR with a mirrorless. I posed some Qs here a few weeks ago and their seemed to be more positive remarks for the a6000 than for others on my mirrorless consideration list. The price was $100 off regular and the 55-210 mm lens was $200 off regular. One little feature is the C2 button that serves as a ? button when in the menus - you get a short description that helps understanding. The weather has been too crappy to get out in so I don't have any pictures to show for now.

Have you downloaded the 480+ page guide to your computer or tablet?
I checked the Sony site for a printed guide; they want $85 for a printable PDF. Given printing prices that guide should be around $4.80 + $5 S&H. Of course, a guide with that many pages would probably land on the bookshelf. But as a memory refresher and referencing, it would be useful. Why Sony is being cheesy on a small dollar matter might tell us something about Sony.

The a6000 is a great camera. Freidman's book is excellent. He goes through the camera & it's features with a logical step by step approach.

I agree! The a6000 is all the camera I can imagine after using nikons for years. Quality of lenses is excellent. I advise spending the $25-30 on Friedman's downloadable book which covers everything! I feel like I Have a camera which will do everything I need as well as a lot I never use but have available if I need it in the future.

Purchased the a6000 at Costco on black Friday with two lenses, bag and 32g card for $ 750. Knowing I could return it no questions asked, I struggled for 3 months not knowing weather to return it. I took a local photography class for $ 99. on a Saturday, I wish I had taken the class ten years ago. First topic was we were going to forget about (A) automatic any way the camera is a keeper has tons of buttons and gizmos and I'm just waiting for some sunny spring days to really road test baby.

I love my a6000 especially after purchasing Gary Fong's instructional video.

It is a great camera for beginners who can start out using the many, many presets and then move on to experimenting with manual settings.

On our local fieldtrips the "professionals" are impressed with this camera.
