What's a good site to host a photo/video album of a trip

I just finished a bike trip and want to make a collection of photos and video available to my friends. I don't want to use Facebook since a lot of my friends don't use it. Any opinions out there (dumb question, but baiting) about good free sites where I can host the video alongside the photos? It would be nice to present things in more of a chronological order than have to put the videos in a separate area.

I use SmugMug. I have a professional account which gives me unlimited uploads and other privileges.
I have several "Private" galleries (family, clubs, etc) which are Password Protected so that it's not open to the general public.
I don't know if you can Password Protect a basic account, which I believe is free, but it might be worth looking into.
Take a look at mine if you want to.

I have noticed a variety of these kinds of albums posted on Pbase. You can password protect if you so desire.

YouTube http://www.youtube.com is easy to use and free

There's also http://vimeo.com and I'm sure there's others.

Thanks all. It's looking like free isn't really out there anymore for what I'd like to do. Seems like $25-40/year is going to need to be in my budget.

I don't think you read my reply carefully. I mentioned that SmugMug does have a free account, just not so many privileges.

I went there. I don't see anything for free. The basic is now $3.34/month if billed annually. It would be nice to use my own domain since I have a few, but that feature is in the next plan up.

My suggestion is to host a domain and create many subdomains, each specific for a trip.

I did this for my travels and add specific write ups for the places visited

There is Drop Box that has 2 GB free and you can put files in and out of it to stay under the 2Gb limit on the free plan.

You can email the link to the files to whoever you want and they can share that link as well.

When you remove the file from Drop Box the link doesn't work any more.

OK, so I'm evaluating SmugMug, Flickr, Picassa and Shutterfly. Shutterfly is nice but they are going to make me upgrade to store over 10 videos. SmugMug is nice but it's not free. I haven't gotten to Picassa and so far I haven't found anything I don't like about Flickr. I'll keep you posted on what I decide.

I have Dropbox, Google Drive and OneDrive with plenty of storage in all of them. But I won't get the nice slideshow feel that I want to give people.

On a sidenote, Microsoft OneDrive is a LOT cheaper than Dropbox for expanded storage. I had been using Dropbox for a few years and had 48GB free for two years through a Samsung promotion. When they wanted $100/year for another 100GB I looked at OneDrive. They are a buck a month for 50GB. And I just don't like what Google does in their interface...

I use Flickr it's free and easy to use and you can put your picture on a map where they were taken.

And now Flickr gives you a terabyte for free. Hard to pass up a deal like that. (Although I hate the Yahoo signup issues.)
