It's a paperweight. What brand camera do your lenses fit?

It probably can be cleaned--depending on the lens--but it is not a DIY operation. Depending on the cost to have it cleaned it may very well have become a paperweight.

I have a couple ATX PRO Series Tokinas, (much better glass than the standard ATX lenses), and I love them a LOT! But the reality is, even if it can be cleaned, the fungus likely has ruined the lens coating. You can replace it for much less than the repair cost will be. Nice paperweight though.

Maybe photoshop has a fungus tool. Better than paper weight.

Hi john gasior... Here is a website of a fellow UHH member he does camera and lens repair out of his home. He is experienced and seems to be reasonable in his pricing. Might be worth contacting him, he can probably give you an estimate. http://www.discountcamerarepair.com/ Hope this helps..

Some fungus can be sucessfully cleaned, some not - it will cost money to find out. The other question is - can this lens be sucessfully replaced. And, lastly another question - how badly do you want to use this particular lens ?

Factory cleaning teams most often use a clean room for lenses and sensors. They are equipped to deal with foreign matter better than a lot of camera stores. Also, don't rule out oil and micro dust build-up that seeped through lens adjustment fittings. I would recommend you go to a camera store you trust and price sending out one piece of equipment for a factory cleaning. Put a loop on the lens to make sure you know what the intrusion looks like. Then loop it again after the cleaning. Before you invest in all equipment, price trade-in/replacement at Adorama camera (a good barometer for used equip) before you pay for referbs on all your old gear.
