I have had the pleasure of having a trio of Canada Geese visit our local lake used as a water source for our golf coarse. While sitting on the bank trying to capture coots running on the surface, this trio flew in right over my head and landed within reach of my Canon 100-400 IS on my D6. The dance started and the adult pair did not seem to mind my presence. Some of these shots are not cropped @ the full 400 mm, so you can get an idea of how close they were. I kind of felt honored to share the experience and I hope they hang around so I can enjoy the chicks as well.

I have been going thru the numerous shot of this pair, and I think I like this one. Looks like an affair to me, but of coarse I am not a goose, so what do I know. Often times we tend to get a little anthropogenic, and I try to avoid such. I just like the natural history here. Its what they do, and we are lucky to watch sometimes.
