Enlarger wanted.

I am looking for an old, but sturdy enlarger. It doesn't have to work. I want to convert it to a down shooting slide rail for macro work.
I have been looking on Craigslist, but too many people have the notion that if it's old, it's gold, which usually isn't true.
LMK what you have and what you want for it shipped to 21122.
Please send a photo so I can see if it will work for my purpose.

fine idea for a vertical document copy stand.
Lacks the rigidity needed for macro work.

You don't think it will work with remote trigger and no mirror flip? I figured as long as it was strong enough to hold the camera, it would work. I have a ring flash, but I actually planned to use small side spots.

From lens wobble to base board flex there will be something around every corner to bite you in the but.
Plan on doing a lot of modification of physical supports.
Took me 6 months to get my vertical rig working.
Everytime i thought i had it ridged, another problem area would show up.

Would you mind sending/posting photos of your rig. It may save me some aggravation. Thanks

Hey Russ -
I have a durst M700/800 that should be ideal for your use.
The column is a large rectangular box beam with geared travel and distance markings. The column mounts to the baseboard with four bolts, easily removable if you should decide to use it horizontally.
The enlarger head is very easy to remove and leaves a nice flat mountingsurface with a 3/8 tripod screw already in place.
Best of all, it's here in Baltimore so you can come look at it and if you like it, take it away for $50.
Sorry, after digging it out, I find it has a broken gear in the lift mechanism. Would not work well vertically.
