Tonight seeing is really marginal. Jupiter is changing shape like a balloon filled with jello.
Canon 7D
Celestron C11 prime focus with 2X Barlow 1.25
Tv (Shutter Speed) 0.5
ISO Speed 100
Single shot
I really need to work on getting stacking done.

I would have to agree with you, with the amount of detail you are able to pull out of the C11 with only a single frame, an .AVI where a program can use a hundred frames would be breathtaking.
Great capture BTW

Ok, I went back and did a 31 photo stack in Registax 6.1 and this is the best I could tweak out using the tutorial that's online with suggested settings. At least the red spot is more defined.
Back to the drawing board.

Try increasing the ISO so you can decrease exposure time.

I hear that! Still, your single frame is pretty good! Even in good seeing conditions, I never got a good planetary image in a single shot. I tried Mars once. My best single image looked like a blurry orange that sat out in the sun too long.

I shot a bit of movie with the 7D and need to convert it to avi. Any recommendations?

You might try "Any Video Converter" It's free and it works pretty well.

Thank you, finally a free ware that seems to work.
I'll have to run some of my video through and see what I can do with some of the video stacking software.
