I have Nikon's latest and greatest HDSLR, The D4 S. But for the price that this camera costs (an arm and a leg), one would think Nikon would engineer a rear monitor safety plate. Third party companies have thin glass plates that adhere to the rear monitor via static electricity, or heaven forbid, the use of a sticky substance on a Mylar sheet for touch screens.
I'm sorry, but this is not a smart phone with a touch screen. For around $6500.00, you would think that the brains at Nikon could come up with something better. I love Nikon products, but this really bites my buns that their thinking didn't go far enough.

you could always tape a sandwich bag over the screen.
