I posted this in the critique section and it was suggested that I do a pseudo HDR on it as I did not bracket the shot. Here is the results of that experiment.
The different versions are uncropped

2 and 3 seem pretty similar, but i give the nod to #3.

Nice photo for sure. When did you go?

Version #2 for me! Good suggestion, and excellent execution.
Hali as an Icelandic town that I visited more than 40-years ago:

Number three would be my choice.

Hail is on the south east side of Iceland. A group of women mostly from UHH were there last week.

Version 1 (photo #2) is my favorite: the pink of the clouds/fog, lighter foreground, more natural look overall. Really like the composition, CM. Beautiful and desolate.

Judy, you have made me realize I need to get down closer to the ground like you do for more of my scenery shots--good job

Oh yes, I remember reading about some international incident up there. Now I know why. :hunf: I expect to see many more photos from there in the coming days.

Ha, Ha, yes, that was probably the last night with our guide. After all of the pictures, (his poor wife is probably still laughing:) he actually left the dinner table and came back with noise blocking headphones on. We had a wonderful time, and Skarpi (our guide) really did love us. He was the envy of all the other guides with 7 women for a week. (Little did they know about the luggage for 7 women, etc.)

Judy, those shots are all great. However, I like #3, as it has a smidgen more saturation, and that appeals to my eye.

Your knees might like you better if you don't. Mine still haven't recovered. :-D
