When shooting wildlife one should include their habitat as judges and environmentalists will mark you down if you don't.
Having said that - you were photographing the birds so why did you not fill the frame with them and not the uninteresting tree and yards of water?.....There should have been a better composition possible.
Your crop is a tad tight. The geese on the right need a little more space to 'look into'. Perhaps including the far right cropped out one would have balanced the picture by having the two outsiders looking in.
I think you could darken the image slightly and get more definition into the snow.
Its not up to me to like.....so I hope my criticism helps you get an image that you like (better)

G Brown, interesting dissection of the photos. Thank you, but I'm sticking with the crop. This is what I would have captured if I had longer glass. But I had a 18-135mm lens and shot the original photo at 135mm. The eye of the beholder is still king, or should I say queen!!
