Good picture, fill flash would have helped immensely.
What an unusual bird. It looks good to me but I am just learning to capture birds as well.

That is a really nice picture - great colors and composition - really very well done.
From my own experience using the Tamron 150-600 so far, for pictures of birds I tend to back the reach down to 500mm. That 100mm difference is actually very insignificant as far as actual reach is concerned but I am much happier with the IQ - tends to sharpen the picture up. Although the difference might also be attributable to a not too steady handholding.
I wish that all of my bird pictures came out as well as yours did here! If you follow Regis here on UHH, you probably have noticed that his bird pics are all great, even at 600mm.
