Best time of the year to catch Jupiter in the sky. We get so few clear nights in the winter, have to take advantage. Captured this last night. The Great Red Spot was front and center. Also of note, a moon is transiting the face and there is an apparently larger moon shadow just to the left on the surface. I don't think the moon in the shot is the moon casting the shadow. In another sequence I haven't processed yet, there is another moon visible in orbit. It may be the one casting the shadow.

I know what you mean Guts, I can only do the best I can with what I've got.

Thanks you guys for looking in. I appreciate your comments. To a large extent it really is about the tools. My photos took a HUGE leap forward when I started imaging with a webcam last year. Still learning but I'm getting better at it. With the video sequences, I get to see the planet live on my computer screen in much better detail than I could hope to see looking through my telescope. Next best thing to being there :)
The skies in the Puget Sound are looking promising for tonight. Jupiter is just too good right now to not take advantage.
