I know there will be people on the Hog who know how to do this, so can someone please help me,
I have a video clip taken with my DSLR it is 1min 23 sec long and it tells me it is 183MB, how do i send this via a E/mail,
A frind of mine has told me how to do this, but even though it appears to be sending it OK, after 40mins of trying to send and my email prog showing that only 50% had been sent, i just deleted it,
Thank you to all for all replies in advance,
i see on the hog where so many videos are sent in, where we just click on a link, is that the way to do it, and if so, HOW,
i recently watched on the hog, a video Braice sent in , on Liverpool by night, and as Liverpool is my origanal home town, i was in complete awe of his skills, which i could do that,

Get a Dropbox account for sharing work.

The 183mb file is not compressed, so you would need to do that first. Creating an mp4 file will probably make it small enough to send by email.

Most mail servers have been set up to restrict anything over about 10 MB. It makes it hard to email anything graphic.

As the others suggested, the easiest way is to get something like a DropBox account, copy the file to that account then get a link to your video and email the link. If you require assistance setting up such an account, send a PM, but it's rather straightforward. I've used mine for this purpose many, many times. It works great.

I use Dropbox quite a lot for sharing photos with my brother in The Netherlands. Not only does it prevent "hic-ups" with e-mail, he can access the photos when it is convenient for him time-wise, and since we have a shared folder, he deletes them from the folder at the sam time, ready for the next upload. The 2gb that you get free from Dropbox has proven to be more than sufficient for this!

Certain e-mail providers set file size limitations (yahoo mail). There are several that do not. Just find a free account provider that doesn't limit file size or as stated above... Use a Dropbox account and send the link (easiest solution).

I use Dropbox for sharing large files. Free and it works fine.

In my experience a file that size can't be sent via email for the reason stated above, the 10mp restriction.

I use two methods. I post the video to my Flicker page first then send the link. Or post it to my You Tube channel and again, send the link.

As far as I know putting your video on the web somewhere then sending the link is the only way to get it there.

If you have a gmail account and try to send an email over 10 to 15 MB, a window comes up asking you to send your email via Google Drive with a link to paste it there. Will take a file up to 2GB.

Interesting but it still seems the same thing - put it on a server and send the link, true? Or not true?

I don't use Google so I probably wouldn't use that service.

But... thanks for the information - appreciated.
