Ive seen tugboats get iced in but never ships There are several USCG icebreakers. From where I shoot the Hudson River is very wide so what you see is packed ice on the move but get to West Point landing about 17 miles south is is about 1/4 as wide and that is were the ice breakers are needed most

Mr Woods,

Has there been any ice boating in the bays off the main channel yet? Looks as if the thickness of the ice would be strong enough.
