Tell me it's horribly bad....it doesn't work well on Nikons....anything.....
I probably won't be able to hold out much longer.....

I am so sorry for your situation.
whenever I have a GAS attack I can't find any solution short of the wife hiding the credit card. Just do it. There is no cure.

You will be miserable til you succumb. Better just buy it. It's inevitable.

Buy the sigma...It comes with it's own nice padded carrying case.

The Tammy doesnt come with a case.

Ahhh...but which one weighs less? I'm too old to carry around a heavy lens...

Don't get it, you'll end up with shots like these and want to do more and keep getting frustrated.

If you're old and shaky as I am, get a good tripod.

Ultimately my reason for holding off was to ask myself how often would I use the lens. I realized I am not a wildlife photographer, and for the Reenactment events I shoot, the 70-300mm lens, with occasional use of 1.4 extender is all the range I really need. For the longer stuff, I purchased a Canon SX60 HS for about 1/6th the cost of the Tamron .... and it has an even LONGER range.

Sound reasoning won't thwart a full-blown G.A.S. attack, it will only fuel it... You're making too much sense, Bob.

The Tamron is good, it works very well on my 6D.
From what I see the Sigma Sport is good and it is rugged, but 2 lbs more and 2X the price.
They are now taking pre-0rders for the Sigma Contemporary. I wish it had been out so I could have had a choice between it and the Tamron.
Will wait and see how good it is. It will have to be a lot better than my Tamron to make me consider changing.
I am saving my money for an action body to compliment my 6D.
The only lens I lack for my Canon is a macro. But I have that for my Sigma SD10 and SD14 if a bug starts demanding to be photographed. For a macro I am leaning towards the Sigma 180 .

You know how most people have a good angel on one shoulder and an evil devil on the other!!? when this happens to me the devil says" Go for it!!!! you need it!! you can't live without it!!!" so i wait the customary 10 to 15 seconds for the good "common sense" angel to chime in,
and what does he/she say," what the hell!! go for it!!

this is my life!!!

you know what you have to do

{come on over to the Stepford Photographers!!!}
