One of us may have a monitor problem. You see my pics as too light and I'm seeing yours as too dark. Have you had your monitor calibrated lately. The colors are punched up on your shots as you suggested mine might need but they're coming through here as perhaps being too bright on the whites and the skin tones are pretty reddish and hot, especially on the boy in the last shot.

It'd be interesting for several folks to have a look and see how they see our separate shots. You're one of very few people to say that I need to punch my color up. Most people are thinking I should tone 'em down some.

I adore the first photo...that little girl looking up at the boy is a precious moment in time.

Oh yes. Forgot my manners. The shots are well composed and the subject matter very appealing. I do like the mystery of the first one, but I'm a sucker for lil' kiddie shots. The second one, are those fans at a concert or something. I'm not a big fan of selective color but don't mind if you are. The last one is a great pose and like the little girl in the first one looking at what one might assume is her big brother, the girl in the bottom sure seems to have some adoration going. They're sure not hard to look at.

It would be interesting, indeed. I use a colormonki calibrator and my prints generally turn out on my canon pixma pro9500 just as they appear on my screen. Calibration has not been my strong suit though as I use a laptop on which I'm constantly adjusting brightness settings.

Thanks for the compliments. These were all taken at a wedding in Jarbidge Nevada where the children were quite bored having little to do in the old mining town.

I see the same thing. Really saturated color in shot 1 & 3. The shadows in #2 are too deep and need to be brightened up. I've attached an edited version that only took a few minutes to do. Thats how I see it.

Bring out the shadows and sharpen

Well, I've not calibrated my monitor and I almost never print any of my images so you're up one on me there, or two. I do have a 25" HP monitor that's about six months old along with a new computer, very powerful, and haven't been too disappointed with how my images look on it.

I've submitted a thread in the discussion part of the forum to discuss this as an ongoing issue. That little difference may explain why so many folks are seeing other's images so often as needing adjustments. It'll be interesting to see what the members come up with. I asked for some thinking and discussion how to address this issue. Perhaps you can participate in the discussion. I'm sure several folks will have some ideas. There's some really experienced and sharp people in here. Let's see what tomorrow holds before either of us make any steps to alter anything. I'll say this, after many laptops over the years, I am convince they handle images and their demands much differently than a honkin' huge desktop and a monitor.

Understand what yer saying... just moving my head up or down changes the color/contrast on my laptop (or tilting the screen). Unless there's major color/contrast problems, I tend to look more at the composition of a shot, how it's cropped, the subject matter. Most of the time, these pics are viewed on monitors that are not top of the line (photo-wise), or laptops that have limited adjustment capabilities. FINDING top quality monitors is the hard part. Then there's the equipment and software needed to calibrate your monitor... ah, it never ends.

They have a great warmth about them. I really like the color saturation. Just one man's opinion.

On my monitor the first photos' white is almost blinding in intensity, but an adorable pic & subject. I don't care for the color in the 2nd. pic. Just my opinion though. The third one seems to have the right exposure, composure, etc. Keep in mind; this is just my opinion & opinions are as varied as food. Some love broccoli & some hate it. I love it.
