Congratulations. I think it is really neat.
Normally I wouldn't submit an out the window shot but this rainbow had a 2nd and 3ed shadow faintly viable that I thought rare enough to warrant noting. I wanted to photograph a shadow badly ever since I missed the shot of a lifetime back in the 1970's. Our lab director was preoccupied with more important matters and so missed a routine instrument calibration flight of our NC-130A 33133. Because of that I got to occupy his left hand-chair to check a particular instrument. Somewhere above and while in brilliantly clear air over a spectacularly white cloud deck I noticed through the lower nose windows what I took to be a complete sun dog beneath us. Usually they are huge and cover most of the sky on both sides of the sun but this was a complete circle. Reflecting on it later I suspect it was the brilliant sunlight refracting around our plane that created a lens-like illusion projected on the clouds below. By the time I readied the hand-held 35mm camera the effect had dissipated. We carried 16mm cine front, back and both sides and three large aerial mapping cameras but none were turned on for that mission. If I had a penny for every shot Ive lost
