'It's ok - I'm not wanted' Charles...
I went through downtown Dallas on my way to work. I was thinking about shooting some of the giant mirrored monoliths. Charles assisted me on my shoot for a very nominal fee..... When I asked him if I could take his photograph he said 'it's ok, I'm not wanted anywhere'. I told him that I was a wanted man in Colorado a while back. (unpaid traffic ticket in Denver 30 years ago) I played around with the original shot - Desaturate, Color enhance, Desaturate, + Contrast...... I included the original for comparison. I've been doing street portraits for a while now and am looking at ways to give the shots a more graphic feel...

Great treatment and wonderful subject, personally, I prefer the original. The original is much more natural?? Sorry I can't explain it better.
#2 for me. I like the rich brown color of his skin that contrasts with the black cap and white beard. Great shot

I like the original - there's richness in the color, especially in the skin tones that is missing from the re-worked image.
Great pose and composition.
I too prefer the original, very good shot.
Like #2 best but would like to see more of the eyes in either one. "Eyes are the window to the soul".

Hindsight is 20-20... next time I'll use my flash for fill. I tried using my burn & sharpen tools in that area but I'm always afraid to push it too far...

I agree with you 100%, pushing to far would probably be worse. Sometimes you take what you can get. Enjoyed the image.
