I'd have been scared to death to get that close to a potential crocodile lair.
The shot was taken from a pontoon boat on a river cruise of the Zambezi River in Chobe National Park, Botswana.
I used an Olympus EM-10 with a 75-300mm olympus lens. Because of the micro 4/3 sensor the field of view was increased 2 times as compared to a 35mm sensor. So I was effectively using a 150-600mm lens which was just 4 inches long! I was zoomed out to about 300 mm for the photo. It was a pretty safe shot. However the water was full of crocodiles.
