Found it tonight and was able to get close but not fully in focus. I still cannot see this in the viewfinder and adjust, shoot, and adjust again till close.

Camera Model Name Canon EOS 7D
Tv (Shutter Speed) 10
ISO Speed 4000
f/10 fixed

Nice pix. I'm new to these posts and to (astro)photography. I was playing around myself. I am still learning how to get around with equipment and post processing software. The pix always seem better on my laptop and then not so good when I email them and/or print.

Also, I like your bug, do you have more of your macros somewhere to view?

Nice shot Jim.
What I've done is get it fixed and put it into 'User Object'
Then I get a good focus on a bright star and go back to 'User Object'
and shoot away, adjusting my camera settings as I go.

This isn't a go to mount, it's old school.
I usually get the view finder locked in with the optical and then locate what I am shooting with the view finder. And of course we are in a cloudy when I can play and clear when I have to work rotation.
Nice thought however.

I have posted a number of shots in the true macro forum here. Some good, some bad and some just plain ugly. ;)
