Price update $350 Sigma 180mm f/3.5 APO Macro DG Canon mount

I am selling my Sigma lens I acquired from Blurryeyed in a trade. I have only used this lens a few times, but the 60mm Macro I also traded for is constantly on my camera. This lens is in good condition, the glass is clean. The housing of the lens shows wear and peeling paint on the underside near the tripod mount. This was the same amount of peeling paint when I acquired this lens. I moved from California to Utah and I now want the Sigma 150-500 for the abundant wild life opportunities out here. I am asking $500 and I will pay the insured shipping. Original box, soft case, lens covers, hood, and of course the lens is included in this sale. These photos are of the actual items for sale. I have Blurryeyed as a reference for my character on shipping items. Possibly open to trades also, can include cash if the deal is the right deal. Like I said I am looking for a Sigma 150-500 canon mount, wide angle lens in the 17mm-85mm or 24-105 range, even a Canon body would suit my needs.
Thank you for looking,
-gerald

Hi,
I'm interested in your lens, but frankly very concerned with the condition it looks to be in. It looks like it was abused and left outside to fend for itself! : - )

I know you stated it was like that when you got it, but then that leaves the previous owner to answer for it's condition. I would be willing to pay $400 if you pay the shipping. Obviously I would be taking the chances here if in fact it turns out to be defective in some way, (no offense).
Thank you for considering my offer.

Hi, br I'm interested in your lens, but frankly ve... (show quote)

That used to be my lens, the older Sigma lenses had a flat paint finish that marred easily and the lens got a little scratched up in the area shown in the images. The lens was otherwise in excellent condition and is really a superior performing lens.... many of the images on my flickr page below were taken with that lens.... truly an amazing lens, had I not just purchased a new one I would buy that one back in a heartbeat and would have done so before the price reduction.

I appreciate the feedback. I was holding out for the Canon 100mm Macro, just for the f2.8. But I have also read some encouraging things about the Sigma 180mm. Unfortunately their lens are a hit and miss as far as build quality. They just seem to rattle apart. NTM the poor lens coat.

Thanks to geclevel for posting the ad, better think about this some more.

Sorry for the late response I have been out of state on business travel. I appreciate the concern with the condition but as the original owner stated it is not from abuse. I am going to pass on the $400 offer at this time. I don't use the lens but I am also not in a hurry to give it away.

Thanks for getting back. I'll consider your price a little further then. Take care.

The lens I really want is on sale so I am "burning the furniture" and will ship this lens to anywhere in the US for $350.

As the former owner maybe you can answer a question that I had.
Is this lens compatable with a full frame Canon?
I'm interested but don't want to destroy my mirror if it has the wrong mount.
I'm not finding much on the web about this lens and hope you can help.
Thanks.

Yes, it is fully compatible it is an EX DG lens which is full frame. The lens is excellent, I pm'd him earlier offering to purchase it back because he has made the price so low, much less than I originally paid for it and much less than he paid for it. I currently own the 150mm version with OS, that sells for about $1050, but honestly I would just as soon have this lens back and sell the my newer lens. If you are serious about buying this lens then I am ok with him selling it to you because I already have the new one, but if you don't buy it I will. I just feel bad because I know that he is losing money on the deal. He and I traded lenses a while back and this was a part of that trade.
