Wow...I've never seen a picture of an eagle with an inquisitive look to it. Good job, Arnold. I'll remember this one for a long time. Thanks!

Great photos of such a majestic bird! Nice detail, good color. How far away were you? It appears you were looking into the nest from about the same heigth which is always nice. The third photo shows the feather detail very nicely.

I looked at your other photos, glad to see the fog burned off giving you a clear day to work with.

Jim, I estimate that I'm about 50 yards from the nest which is high up in a tree. Thanks for taking your time for looking at my photos, and providing me your comments. Arnold

Outstanding, weather has conspired to keep me in Michigan for a couple of extra days but I plan on shooting eagle in central Florida Tuesday or Wednesday.

The Kissimmee area. I will be staying at my sisters for 2 months with a few road trips thrown in to places like Ding Darling. I know of one eagles nest in Orlando and I will be hitting Merritt Island and the Gatorland Rookery. I know Gatorland is kind of cheesy but the Rookery is just outstanding. I have the Central Florida Guide from Birds as Art and I am going to investigate all of those areas also.

Your lucky to have a spot you can get that close. Eagles do not like to be bothered by people as a gereral rule. I knew of one that you could get about that close, meybe 75 yards, and after a couple of years the abandoned the nest.

I know of one active nest right now but I think its a little early for them to have hatched up here in Jersey. If I am lucky I might be able to get about 225-250 yards from it.

No that's not me. I took the name from one of only two the only comic strips I ever really like, Bloom County.

This past Tuesday I went to photograph a Eagle's Nest activities in Melbourne Florida.

For the Tech Geeks -
A Nikon D300 with a Nikon 500mm manual focus lens and a 1.4X Nikon Teleconverter was used to capture all these images. I used Lightroom 3 and PS CS4 to do all my post processing.

I would appreciate your feedback and critique on these photos.
