Drove to Barren River Dam Spillway this afternoon looking for Eagles. Saw 2 Juvenile eagles in tree. Could not get good photo for all the limbs. TheY soon flew up the river and one flew back toward dam and landed in a tree, and modeled for me.

Nice. I really like the second photo.
Looks great! You should add some download links.
Thanks geclevel for looking!
I would add download links, but I usually resize to 600x800 pixels before posting. For the store original to work, do you leave the image to full size and let UHH downsize it at time of post?

How exciting to get shots of these eagles! Great photo of the one who was kind enough to pose. Really? You drove over, looked up -- and there they were? What luck!
I heard or read -- can't remember where -- that Barren River Reservoir is home to Sandhill Cranes. I don't know if its a stop-over during migration or what. Know anything about this? I ask because I not only seek eagles, I seek Sandhill Cranes, too.
The last few weeks (2) Adult Bald Eagles have been spotted and some juveniles. There were (2) in a tree and they flew off and then I spotted the (1) up high on the dead tree up the river a few hundred feet. Don't know if he was one that circled back or if there were (3) total Juvenile. I have good photos that I took of one of the adults, but always 200-250 feet away. Hopefully will get closer shots. I have not seen sandhill cranes, but have also heard they are here. There are several Blue herons and gulls that I also have photographed. I practice my BIF shots on the gulls, but they are plentiful.
That second shot is gorgeous. I'm always amazed by the intensity in their eyes.
Any idea how old juveniles are before they start changing color on their heads?

White starts to show up around 2 and full white at age 3 I believe.
