I like your subject, I am always attracted to ancient ruins. I wish there was a little more of the surroundings but there may be a good reason for not including more (people, signs, modern structures). And I am often accused of keeping too much in the frame so maybe you don't need to listen to me anyway on that:)

It looks sharp with nice detail and texture. Shooting into the light is very challenging, and you managed to balance your exposure and keep detail in the clouds in spite of that. There is a patch of blue sky in the upper left that is a little off hue, but you should be able to fix that pretty easily with your saturation or blue HSL slider. I'd be tempted to raise the shadows on the shadowed front a bit to get some more detail to show, but raising it too much would introduce noise and look funny. All in all a nice travel photo in a lovely setting with nice sky to back it up.

I pretty much echo your comments, the photographer has probably got as much out of the shot as possible without blowing the highlights too much and without introducing too much noise in opened out shadows. But if ever there was an argument for a bracketed shot this is it. Static subject wide dynamic range and plenty of light. With a bracket of three you could HDR or carefully blend the three images to open up the shadows without noise and to return detail to the highlights.

Even if you you rarely use the bracket of three that you take I think it is always worth doing just so you have the option available if you need it.
