Wecome - I'm going to go with the first two as my favorites. Like macro; just do little of it. #3 - I like the idea; for me it all much too much, but I'm guessing others will love it. I have added a few that I have my own issue with & you are most welcome to comment on, welcome

Thanks for the critique! As for your pics I love them all but my favorite has to be the 3rd one because I can see so many textures. Happy photographing :)

I do love #3 and the use of sepia to give it that old time feel. They actualy are all good the dragonfly is superb. It might be these old eyes but the bee looks a little out of focus. Thats the problem with macro off by even a tad and it throws off the whole picture. I assume you used a macro lens for the first two shots?

I love number 3, probably because I like the subject. I think the 2nd is beautifully done, also, I just do not love bugs.

Itmyturnnow I am so sorry no one answered your question. twenty lashes with a wet camera strap :D Does your camera have a macro setting the icon will look like a flower. If it does switch it on it will allow you to get closer. Most of my macro work was done with a dslr and a macro lens. what advice I can give you is limited. what interests me with macro might not interest you. what i look for are either vibrant colors, interesting lines, insect activity around the subject,, interesting texture anything that makes the flower or plant unique and not just another flower shot. If there is an interesting contrast bright red flower against dark green leaves ill throw the background out of focus by using a small f stop number and concentrating focus on flower. There are many good books about macro and nature photography. go to amazon and save moola by buying used. 8-)
