It was a cloudy day when I shot this eagle in a tree over-looking the Lake.
I used a 600mm setting at a distance of 43 yards.

Canon 6D - Tamron 150-600mm - 1/500 - f/6.3 - ISO @ 1000.

Thank you, Fullframe, for your nice comment. Start off with a good camera, Canon 6D and Tamron 150-600mm lens. A few tools from different programs (Perfect Effects, Photoshop Elements, Topaz), to be used in the proper sequence depending on the photo composition with the different nuances, etc. plus many years of photographic experience and special education. All this can not be put on paper to learn from. I would have to give a video demonstration and I don't want to give away all my secrets.

This is indeed beautiful. I love the way it's set off by the pine.

Thank you, Vicki. This tree was a good setting with the lake behind and below the Bald Eagle plus it was on the side of a main road making it easy to get to and shoot this beautiful bird. That's what makes this an Eagle heaven for 6 weeks and brings in a lot of photographers to this area between 12/1-1/15 each year. Maybe you can take a trip over here and take some great photos during this time frame.
I might purchase the new Canon 5DS R camera that will be featured this Friday with it's 50.6 MP. Talk about getting some detailed shots of Bald Eagles. Wow. Look for 'Canon Rumors' on the web page for information this Friday.
