Is the pc sync connector on the 580EXII a male or female

I am trying to find a cable that will connect to my pocket wizard plus X receiver and my Canon 580EXII. Not sure if the Canon flash PC terminal is male or female?

It would be male. The flash slides into the "receiver" on the top of the camera.

I believe this or a similar (different brand) cable will be what you need to connect to the flash pc sync terminal from your Pocket Wizard.

Not on a Plus X. You are confusing it with the Mini and Flex system.

Just use the cable that comes with the Plus X.

Thanks everyone. I found the correct cable. The Canon 580EXII has a female TERMINAL and the cable has to be male and the plug for Pocket Wizard is a mono mini pug. I didn't have the flash with me, since all of my equipment is stored at my Philly location. Fortunately I have a friend in the photography business that confirmed the plug was correct.
