The Grandkids paint supplies were still on the dining room table when I got home last night so I grabbed my camera and took a few shots.... not really sure what I was going to do with them.... Thought these were kind of intresting......

You will probably get more than the allotted 15 minutes of fame with these. (Warhol allotted every one 15 minutes of fame)

Beautiful ventures into the unreal... then again with regard to photography in the digital era... what does reality have to do with it ?!?!

Other than licking LSD on a postage stamp, available at your local post office, what did you use to achieve such beautiful effects?

Thanks for asking..... The original photo was pretty mundane - so....
Using GIMP 2.8 (the best open source freeware ever!) Under 'Colors' I went to Levels and lightened it 25% then went to Contrast and increased it 12 points then under Maps I ran Alien Maps. I then went back to Contrast and increased it 10 more points. I finished by going to Filters - Enhance & ran Unsharpen Mask. Easy Peasy! BTW, if you are not familiar with GIMP (Graphic Image Manipulator) and want to try it, be sure to only download it from the original .org site.

It is so popular that a lot of unscrupulous people are trying to charge a fee for it or embedding spyware in it.

GIMP your free Open-Source !! Humph..... You did nothing that could not be done in $600 + Photoshop.

Thank you for the info. GIMP also does MathMap Fractal work that PS no longer supports. Long live opensource.org
