An online acquaintance recently asked me to join a Twisty Curl macro challenge. Idea was to take macro/closeups of subjects that twist and curl. At first I was skeptical of participating but by the end of the challenge I found I rather enjoyed myself. Below are four of my entries. All are focus stacked. Three were done by changing focus on the lens and the fourth was done with a Zeiss fine focus microscope block moving the camera. Two were done in the field and two on a tabletop rig.

Nice series, William. Love the "industrials".
I enjoy each one of these. Very nice
I find challenges tend to lead to new and interesting areas as you have shown here. Great shots as usual William.
Well done! All are great but I like the first 2 the best.
The second is a regal sceptre

Thank you Allen, the fiber conduit gave me fits trying to control the chrome glare.

Thanks Brenda, yes challenges are a great way to put oneself outside comfort zones and in the process learning something new.
