Yes, the title of Johnny Paychecks most famous hit song. It became an anthem so to speak for many disgruntled workers. Alas, poor John died in 2003, broke and penniless. His friend George Jones made sure he was buried amongst other Country stars and donated the land where Johnny is buried....just a few feet from where George later himself was buried in 2013.

Which reminds me... The Grateful Dead is supposed to go on a reunion tour. Now how are they supposed to do that without Jerry Garcia?

Let's just say his pockets were thin having lots of medical issues, problems with the IRS, problems with drugs and alcoholism. He eventually had to file for bankruptcy.

Yeah, a lot of people do. Here at Woodlawn Cemetary I believe there are about 12 Stars of music. Tammy Wynette, George Jones, Little Jimmy Dickens, Eddy Arnold, Jerry Reed, Porter Wagner, and Marty Robins to name a few.

Yea, I heard about that and thought the same thing. Jerry sang most the songs. I guess the same way Queen is doing it...hire a sound-a-like singer.

Know the song well. Nice tribute. I did not know about the George Jones connection.

The connection came early in Johnny's career here in Nashville. He played with the likes of George Jone's, Ray Price, Porter Wagner and co-wrote a few songs. I think he was involved with quite a few heavy weights here in Nashville one way or another behind the scenes. He wrote Tammy Wynettes hit "Apartment #9". However, few of his recorded songs made it very far up the charts.
