One of the nicer aspects of traveling in China is using the new high speed rail system. Every month more lines become operational, opening up more cities and locations to explore, while cutting down the time needed to get there.
It is impressive to see the amount of train stations, rail lines and trains in use in China. During a recent trip the train got up to a cruising speed of 298 KPH which is 188 MPH!

Nice shots. My last trip to Shanghai I rode the Mag Lev to Pudong Air terminal, 470 KMPH . What a ride.

Good set. THanks for the tour. It is amazing how fast they are and luxurious at the same time.

I disagree. You won't ride it because it will never be completed. Moonbeam Brown has again hijacked the funding, and as has been reported, is substituting another version for the mono-rail we voted for ( I expected this and voted against it). In a pure Hollywood moment "they broke ground" for the first stage of construction that has it going from nowhere to nowhere. When the money runs out it will connect no place to no place and at half the speed we voted for!

China has great trains, largely because China does not have any Republicans.

I don't remember that many Democratic governors turned back federal money and cancelled planned high speed rail projects in their states.

Well we wish Moonbeam would have turned back the the federal money, If there was any chance of a profitable high speed train link between LA and SF you could be sure that Commercial interests would already be involved in creating it.

Does any high speed rail exist in the US? just asking as I do not recall.

Los Angeles Calif had a great public transit that went literally everywhere with the old P. E. Street cars. The were all done away with and replaced in a few cases with busses - putting a lot of money in the politicians pockets co-incidentaly and screw the people as usual.

The high speed rail being built here in Mexifornia is a boondoggle that Jerry Brown is having built to reward the union thugs who donate to his campaigns. It has been estimated that final cost will be twice the bid price.

Love the photos of the Chinese High Speed Rail.
