conflict at the bird feeder

I was out in the snow storm today making one final attempt to get decent pictures with one of those 500mm mirror lenses, when the picture below occurred right in front of my lens. Even after some post processing I'm not very happy with the quality of this picture, but I thought that the event itself made the picture post worthy ... so here it is.

Not bad but double the speed and .......

I enjoyed the action in this shot. I've never had good luck with the 500mm mirrored lens I got for a Pentax SLR and subsequently transferred to the DSLR version. It worked for macro type shots reasonably well when I had it on a tripod, but I never could have gotten a shot as good as yours even with the shutter speed increased. The dof always seemed too short to get much detail. I applaud you for your effort and hope you have better success than I had. I hope you'll post more to see what you can get.
