I would like to know if others feel it is safe to deal with 42nd St Photo ? I'm looking at making the purchase of a Tamron 150-600mm ?
Thank you very very very much, I appreciate your information greatly.

I ran from them for advertising one price NEW for something that was used. Run.

Having used 42nd Street once, I have not filed a consumer complaint against them. They do not advertise that they sell gray market and are not an authorized dealer. And they lie about it.
Stick with B&H, Adorama or anyone else recommended here.
Bought a Canon 18-135 is stm from them. Got it when I was told, came with a USA warranty card and was considerably less than other places. It has been flawless for over a year now.
Looking at reviews, there are some negative and a lot positive. Same as with most internet stores.
As with everything, ask questions, get all the info you can and make sure you are getting what is advertised.

Don't. These people are bad news.

I have not dealt with them online. However I have been to their store looking for a particular lens. They pushed, I mean pushed, a low quality 2x tele converter and told me I didn't need that lens and this would be better. I walked out and would not deal with them.

Why? To save a few dollars ($10-$20 to be exact) - You can buy from any number of completely reputable companies Samy's in CA, Hunt's in MA, B&H in NY, Unique Photo in NJ, etc. And there are at least 8 Tamron dealers within 150 miles of Phillips according to Tamron's dealer locator.
42nd street photo is not an authorized reseller.
Thank you for your reply, it is helpful as I have two others reply making the same statement.
