Allen,
You surely have an eye for aquatic photography. Your shots are perfectly framed and are pleasing to the eye. Great work.

Thank you George. I enjoy the sports (both diving and photography) and like everyone else, am striving to get better.

I love the corals. Where did you get that shot? I like the other shots too. I just have this thing for really pretty coral and sponges. Frogfish are really funny looking creatures from all the pictures I've seen. Great shots.

Mom,
Had my wife hold a frogfish in her hands in St Lucia, it was in 9 ft of water so I dove down cupped it in my hands and brought it to her. She was amazed at how it just sat in her hand, I then took it back and placed it on the ledge it originally came from. They are amazing and have a huge variety of colors.

It doesn't look like a fish. That would be neat. When I was St. Thomas doing something called "sea trekking", one of the guides scooped up a sea creature to hold. They were weird. I'd never heard of it until I started studying things to do there. I figured that and snuba was the closest I was going to get to diving so I tried it. All the underwater creatures are amazing to me. I'm like a kid in a candy shop when I'm under water. Hope no one gets upset cause I'm jumping in just wanted to see if anyone knew what sea trekking is.

I actually met the man that invented the SNUBA. Very cool way to see the bottom just can't bend over and have to move slowly. Nice shots of it though.

You are correct, it does not look like a fish. That is why they are just passed over many times when diving. If you look closely, you may be able to detect its tail and its right fin. What I believe to be its eye is toward the bottom right of its body. This is the only one I have spotted while diving. This and the hammerhead shark I saw in Turks, are my rare finds.

Allen,
It is not a fish, it is a Sea Urchin that when it dies leaves what we call Sand Dollars behind. These are quite common, people pass them bye because they are in a rush to see everything and they miss the most. I try to tell people take a 10 foot square section of a reef and really study it. You will be amazed at how much life is in the section. Many have come back and said they could not believe they swam past all they found.

George, I think Allen was telling me about the frog fish but I didn't know the sea urchin ended up being a sand dollar. Are sand dollars alive after that, kind of like a butterfly in a cocoon. I've found them in the water (not snorkeling) at Little St. Simon, Ga. and wondered about it. I wasn't into ocean stuff enough to look it up. I take lots of pictures if I see something that might be alive so later I can study them later and see if I missed something. :D

George, Susan is correct, I was referring to the frog fish. Sorry if I led you astray.
