Birds with my new lens.
I got a Tamron 150-600mm lens for a Christmas gift. I got it a couple of weeks ago. Have been just playing with it in the house and yard. Today I braved the 26 degree feels like 16 degree weather to try to get some action going. My fingers about fell off from being so cold. The Nature Trail runs along the Maumee River. These pictures were shot all hand held. I tried to get the geese in a smaller flock. But this was the best I could do. They were my first birds in flight with my new lens. They of course were taken at the 600mm. The Hawks were at 600mm and the squirrel was as well. The Eagle.... well I went there looking for them. Saw one of them in the nest. We were on our way out when this Eagle showed. This was at 150mm. I just had time to toss the mittens and just shoot. I knew being hand held I would never be able to zoom closer. But I am happy with these. Beggars can not be choosey.
I am freezing Mary take me home please
This was just one flock of them.
A pair of Hawks.
The Seagull just happen to be in the area
Right over head with a stick
Over here Mary!
Excellent set Camshy you've got yourself a great lens there.
Congrats, Mary. You must have been a very, very good girl to receive a gift from Santa like that!
Super shots! Can't wait to see what you do with thawed fingers :)
Thank you ever so much Jim. I think I will enjoy it once I get a handle on it!
Thanks for looking Linda. Well I did have to cry and beg for it.
I hope to get better in time! Now I have to wait for warmer weather. Should go back and see if I can find my fingers
Glad you liked them!
Very good Mary, great lens.
Thank you and thanks for looking Earnest. Hope some day I will get better with it! LOL
Love the shots - I've been searching for the numerous Red Tailed Hawks we have on the Denver Front Range - I see them all the time when my camera is at home . . . I know, I have to start carrying it with me in the car ALL the time.
Really like the shivering squirrel shot!

Thanks for looking jstauf. Glad you liked them. Sounds like me. If I have the camera I do not see a thing. Guess I just got lucky today!

Thanks for looking Moxie. I was looking for the Eagles not a squirrel. I have them in the yard all the time. But when I looked up and saw this poor thing I could not help it. I told it if you think this is bad wait for all that snow we are going to get! I do not think it helped that I said that! LOL

We may be snowed in tomorrow. The weather channel is now saying 6-10 inches of snow with of course nice strong winds, with a wind chill factor of -10 tomorrow night.
