I worked on San Francisco Bay for 12 years and have tons of respect for the skippers and the Bar Pilots as they had to navigate shallows, recreational boaters, sailboat races on the Bay. Not to mention the AMERICA'S CUP last year. If they were going up to the Port of Sacramento, lots of Sacramento River traffic full of fishermen and yacht traffic.

Nice shots, but man it looks cold there! I've flown over Mt Beacon many times from Long Island to visit my in laws in New Paltz.
