I sometimes go a week or two away from the forums. So I can't respond to every post.
I think the question depends on a lot of variables;\

1. What types of things are you planning to do. This tells what kinds of functionality is essential for your needs.

2. What is your level of expertise. Because no matter how good a camera you buy, if you don't know a lot about it, then you're going to be lost and unable to get out of the equipment what you intended.

With what little I see as far as answers to these questions (and there are other question I would ask if you and I were talking in person), I'd suggest taking a couple of hundred of that money, and taking a photography class offered by a local photo shop, or else by a community college nearby. then after that, it might be easier for you to come up with your own answers; but if not, further advise is available.

You’re suppose to be 18 to participate here but I think an occasionally a 12 year old jumps on board, wouldn’t be hard to do

i get the point, you don't care what you or anyone else shoots and apparently don't care to share your knowledge or experience with newby crap like me. Luckily I have two private investors who have given me nearly 5,600.00 to purchase semi pro equipment, which is why I was asking you "hedgehog pros" for your imput. I'll figure it out m myself. no need to reply.

Pepsi or coke, diet or regular. Cannon or Nikon. As long as their are defferances there will always be an argument. Big money or no money, what to buy? That will always be the question. Get what's good for you.

C-A-N-O-N!!! Why or why do people have an issue with spelling it correctly?

A Cannon goes "BOOM"
A Canon goes "CLICK"

Because I failed spelling in grade school, and I don't shoot cannon.

Don't feel badly. I shoot Canon and don't care how other people spell it. I will point out that I don't shoot Nikon but I still know how to spell it.
But that's just me. Anyone that spells Cannon on here, most of us know what that means.

I'd like to get some investors to buy me a Canon 5D Mark II. or maybe a 7D. Either of those are better than the 40D that I've been using (that I bought used).
