Caught this House Fly having a moment with an Eastern Pondhawk. You really need to view it in download.

Thanks Angela. Actually I was shooting dragons and damsels that day and it was the piece of paper that caught my eye. I appreciate you looking in.

Hey Jim, always nice to get a comment from you.I was just getting to the pond and this caught my eye and I took what I call a record shot so I have something and as I started to adjust my settings for the day the fly flew. At least I got one for the record even though not a great shot.

The download is so interesting in that they really look like they could be related. What an unusual shot. Congrats!

Thanks Edie. They do kind of look alike but are only related in taxonomy down to Family - Insecta. Thank you for your comment. It was an unusual and lucky shot. The next second the fly was gone.

Hey Corky, good to hear from you. Yeah it was one of those shots that you grab at just the right time. The next second the fly was gone.
Thanks for taking a look. Have a great day!

Hi Amy. Thanks for the thumbs up. It was a fun shot. I'm coming to your area of the country to help with a dragonfly survey this summer. The Dragonfly Society of the Americas Southeast Regional meeting and survey is in a place called Erwin, TN. I've never been there but I'm looking forward to it.
Thanks again.
