Has anyone experienced a problem with Yosemite using Crucial Ram upgrades. I have heard there were some issues with their RAM. I have held off because of that.
I only buy my RAM from OWC (Other World Computing) I have been buying it there since they first opened ( I think it was in the 80's) before that I did buy from Crucial, I got one set from there that did not work and they replaced them, but I had to send mine back first.
Hi Ruthie: I just bought a new MacBook Pro - the retina display is great!!

My MacBook pro is a 2009 I have an old version of Microsoft office on it. I'm still running Mountain lion. I am worried about upgrading to Yosemite because I've heard some software has problems or won't run at all. I have read Aperature and iPhoto are problematic with the upgrade and I sure don't want trouble with Cs6. I've been thinking the best thing for me to do is get a new MacBook and transfer Cs6 to it. Sigh ..... I love how trouble free my computer has been for 6 years and I don't want to spend a lot of time messing with it for an upgraded OS. Is the retina display really that great???

I am on my second IMAC since Yosemite came out. No software problems. I have 2 Kingston password protected flash drives that will not work with it. I contacted Kingston months ago and they said they were working on a fix. 3 Days ago they sent me the fix..... Unbelievable what they said. I needed to go to a PC and reformat the flash drive. WARNING : you will lose all your information. REALLY !!!!
Obviously I B/U but what a way to fix a problem. I wonder if that is true for all Password Protected Flash Drives.
Bob Hartung, Thanks for the info, but sure as the world turns I'll screw something else up trying to change over to chrome. I'm not that savvy with all the technical terms. Guess I'll have to find someone to assist me. Thanks Jimmy

I gather those flash drives have never worked on a mac? They do have to be formatted for the system you want to use them on. I put photos on flash drives to take them to my printer and they use PCs for printing, so I have to put the pictures on a flash drive that is formatted for PC use, otherwise they can't see the images. You may not lose what is on the flash drives if you copy the data to the PC before formatting, then copy it back to the flash drive after formatting.
You can find any software removed by the new installation by typing "incompatible software" (include quotes) in the Spotlight window at the top of the screen. Then click on any found folder with the same Incompatible Software name. All incompatible software is moved here during updates.
btw 2009 Macbook pro, updated at each new release through the years, No issues with 10.10.2
ANY OS update will come with problems re:software compatibility. It is always wise to check BEFORE you upgrade your OS to see which of your apps will also need updating.
We had a few problems converting to Yosemite, the main one being that we had to replace our old printer and we found that apparently not all HP printers were able to handle Y. but we finally found one that did.
It has proven to be an unmitigated disaster since I did so two weeks ago. Power Point has stopped working properly in the midst of lecture prep. This after two weeks of working though not quite as fast.
Yosemite = You're dead meat.
WOWOWOW!!!!! I don't believe it, problems with a MAC, there was me, thinking they were perfect.

Huh? I have been using Yosemite since day 1 and have had zero issues. I think it's fabulous and the graphics are stunning on a retina display.
