I would recommend either the Sigma or Canon over the Mario. But what do I know. What's a Mario?

If you're thinking of creating a username, it's too late now. You'll forever be "link10000"
There is no option in your profile to change your username.
If you would like to be known as "Mario", I'd suggest putting that in your signature (also on the profile page), as the only item. It will them show up below the line below every message you post.

Back to the question. Those are two lenses I'm not familiar with. But if you had titled this thread something like "SIGMA 10-20 or Canon 10-18 Zoom Lens" I wouldn't be here harassing you and someone who could help might join in. BTW, welcome to the Forum. :)

Actually, it is possible to get a different username by going through Admin. I think they allow one change.

There are two Sigma 10-20s for APS-C a 4-5.6 and a 3.5. The 4-5.6 is more equivalent to the Canon 10-18 4.5-5.6. I purchased the Canon earlier this year and am quite happy with it. However, at that time the Sigma was $479 vs. $299 for the Canon which put the Sigma out of my price range at the time. The Sigma is now $399. It has a wider aperture throughout the Canon’s range and it has the extra 2mm.

I might have made a different choice given the current price.

I have the Sigma 10-20mm 4-5.6 which I use with my Canon t3i and I love it. It's great for landscape as I used it quite a lot in Pennsylvania and on the Outer Banks in North Carolina last year. And I'm looking forward to using it again really soon.

I just received my Sigma 8-16, haven't shot much of anything with it yet.
But upon reading the instructions ( yes I do that occasionally) I discovered it is not rain proof, oops could be a problem for me but I'll get by. I do take steps to protect my gear while shooting in inclement weather, plastic rain jackets or plastic bags in light drizzles. Down pours, well I head for the car or indoors.
Other wise I like the coverage having shot a few images sitting at the computer with it while getting the camera body set to my liking.
