Point n shoot camera used on both pictures. Flower picture was shot using closeup mode and the river picture shot with landscape mode. Auto exposure.

Try shifting your thoughts of nervousness to that of excited learner! It makes all the difference.

I am new to this also....just started taking photos in the past year. Can't stop myself from looking at everything like I am looking thru a lens of a camera! By the way, some good shots!

Hi, drcjc. Good for you for jumping right in! Your first shot of the bird on the shoreline pulled me in. While the coloring appears flat, I can't help but continue to look at all that is in this picture. The 3 different reflections give it great interest and appeal. The fox, great subject, great expression, but fuzzy. I anticipate you WILL get so much better at that part as you get to understand your camera!

Stansgirl, I'm with you! I've tried and have been told to resize, reformat, or whatever... I don't have the time to figure out another "entry point" but I'm staying to read and learn. This is a great site. The application is on your own, and I feel like I'm "cheating" by taking info and not contributing, but I'm pretty sure this feeling is self-imposed. Don't quit. Stay and collect info while you/we continue to figure this out!!
