Above the Fog... all the way to 4,500 feet
Yakima has been enveloped in cold, heavy fog for four consecutive days now. Happily, on Sunday and Monday, I was able to rise above it :)

Distant line of fog following the river straight to Yakima!

2. On Monday I drove up to White Pass, elevation 4,500 ft. A few miles further provided this breathtaking view of Mt Rainier.

3. How eerie to live there! At least they don't have to shovel it :)

4. A whole lotta starlings!

Thank you so much, Bob! I'm trying to hang onto the euphoria of Monday's trip to the mountains, but it's already just a distant memory :|

Did the starlings form a murmation? Been trying for a shot of a murmation several times this year but a colleague (who is also an RSPB warden on a local reserve) tells me that for some reason no one understands that are just not murmating(?) this year.
Nice shots Linda! and for your information...a group of starlings is called a "murmur" so you can drop that little tidbit at the next cocktail party you go to...
Be good woman (like that's gonna happen)

Had to look that up :) Turn as one? I don't think they did there, but I was too busy fumbling with lens cap to notice. I have seen that action before, though. If starlings weren't so destructive and invasive, I'd find it quite a thrill.

Thanks for the visit, Greg! Haven't even had breakfast yet, and I'm learning new words - how awesome is UHH? :)

And yes, I'm very glad but it doesn't stop me from complaining about my own weather - lol.
Excellent set Linda,great landscapes.
All of these are very good and enjoyable also. I particularly like the tones and textures of the first shot.
