Garden Railroad Trains

The Bio Park here in Albuquerque has a rather large Garden Railroad layout on the grounds. I try and get photos of the trains in such a way that they almost look life sized. Some attempts work well while others are so, so. The size of the leafs make it hard to keep everything to scale.

In spite of that, you managed very well, indeed! Nice work.

I love models trains & wish I had what you have set up. Unfortunately I have no place to set up my 4 sets of model trains up. Not even a basement. Maybe if I win a lottery someday (wishful thinking) I'll have a house with a room just to set up my trains.

What might be worth trying as a novelty is cutting and pasting a picture of a model train into an actual outdoor scene, and seeing if it would pass off as full size.

Funny you should mention that. Model Railroader Magazine has a best model railroad photograph contest every year. A few years back when digital photography was still kind of in its' infancy, a guy submitted a photo with himself inserted as the engineer of a steam locomotive. He won a prize because it was so realistic. He even added the smoke correctly and even the steam shooting out of the steam chests. It really raised a stink amongst the photo purists. Now, with all of the advancements in digital and post processing programs, one can no longer tell which is which. Kind of sad in a way.

I didn't mean you should try to trick anyone. Like an OOB, it would be an obvious "bending" of reality, sort of like a Dali painting.

I understand what you are saying. I should have added that superimposing of all sorts is now common place in model railroading including what you are suggesting.
