Help--Editing with Elements 13 using guided portrait 'teeth whiting' and it's taken forever showing white sparkles on the teeth with red bar when saved in organizer. Brand new Dell Windows 8.1 with more memory then Adobe recommends, 16 bit. Did 1, no trouble, now have 2 stuck like this. Can any UUH help me?

I just tried whiten teeth in PSE 12 (I have not got v13) and when the button is pressed you need to use a brush on the teeth to select them.

Did you do this and did this part prove OK?

I did it 2 ways, different pic. Under guided (middle option on top bar) picked portrait mode and 2/3 down is whiten teeth with attached brush, move with cursor and I put cross-hair on open smile with click, as on other pic, just get sparkles for 3 plus hours and-"edit in process" on saved picture. Tried expert then on another pic using white color and yes some thin brush on paint, got same sparkles, no result. After 1 done correctly last nite using short version then thougdht I was on a roll but got just sparkles. I shut done hoping a reboot of software would work. Sorry to write so much, but you were trying to help so I sending all info. on topic. Tony

When you say "sparkles" I think you are speaking of the Marching Ants, which is a selection.

The program was waiting for you to paint the teeth within the selection.

Try again, this time click on the teeth and the selection (sparkles) will appear. click on one of the teeth within the selection and it should instantly whiten. Click Done on the panel, and the portrait processing should be complete.

if you feel the program has stopped, just click on Done. You can always go back to it.

This morning finally followed combination of your help and a video sent from Elements Chat on Teeth Whiten. Slight difference between PSE 10-11 and 13, same method, different menus. Found out to remove sparkle mice,open select on top and deselect. Oh well. Thanks for your help, will order 5x7s for mother and father. Best to all over there.
