Live View Nikon D90

I have some manual lenses that I use on my Nikon D90. The green focus dot has too broad a range for me to get fine focus. Is there anything out there that doesn't cost a lot of $ that will let me get live view on a laptop computer or Ipad2? I have seen postings about using an Eye-Fi card, and jailbreaking the Ipad, but I don't really want to do that. I don't really need to control the camera from said computer. I just want to view a larger screen.

Thanks

Once on LiveView, you can click the + button to enlarge on LCD. I use this method to focus my 500 Reflex manual lens on my D90.

Just zoom in, there is a "+" button on the lwer left of your screen that will get you zoomed in real close for fine focus. Otherwise you need tethering software to see it on a computer screen.

Thanks Douglass,
I know about that feature, and it is always a good option. However I would still like to see it on a larger screen. The big advantages of zooming on the LCD are the cost and convenience of not carrying anything else

nikon makes software to allow you to theather your camera to a laptop. don't know if it will work on a d-90. go to nikonusa.com for more info.

You need the Version 2 of Nikon Camera Control.
Works great for tethered, change all your settings. I use a USB extension cord.

You can always install a splt image focus screen in the D90. They are available from many after market sources and work great for perfect focus.

Thank you for the tip on the split image focus screen. Has anybody used one? Is it a permanent installation or can you just use it when needed?
