I agree that they are both nice photos. I think that the black an white is more pleasing. When I look at these in ten minutes, however, I might change my mind. Either way, these are nice photos.

Without looking at other responses, I choose the color version. Maybe if the B&W had more contrast I'd like it, but I prefer the colors in the other one.

In our modern, color age, we use color to record reality and B/W to make a statement. Both are well exposed photos of your subject. I view the color version as a reflection of the variety of stimulants active at night in that city, and the B/W to say that we are not impounded or suppressed by the darkness of night

In a comparison, I prefer the b&w, but mainly because that big purple rectangle in the color is strange and distracting :) I'd also like to see the b&w pop with a bit more contrast or other editing.

Color for me. The purple is a real eye-catcher.... and just happens to be "on the thirds."

Spot on. Color and B&W deliver different messages and the question is 'how well.' Technical points form part but not whole answer.

Especially the sky - it's not dark OR star-speckled - I suspect light pollution against an overcast.

More than likely light pollution. It had just turn dark, I thought about staying longer but was tired lol

I like both. Funny thing how we all have something to say about the color photo. We're all different and there is no right or wrong. I love city scapes, so I started at the tops of the buildings, then came down. The purple lighted area is just the cherry on top, it gives life to the photo. But I like weird stuff anyways.
