That TV show changed the way fire departments across the country operated by showing how effective paramedics were. Paramedics were rare then, now you will find one on almost every ambulance. They have saved millions of lives over the years and we in part can thank "Emergency."

That show created a whole generation of young men who became Paramedics. We were all in love with nurse Dixie McCall!!
